AUTISM THERAPISTS AND SKILLS TRAINERS

Emaley McCullochEmaley McCulloch, B.A., BCABA. Honolulu, Hawaii
Emaley found her passion early in life by working for children with autism using methods of Applied Behavior Analysis. She started her career in 1996 and has never stopped learning. She has had the privilege of having amazing mentors in the field of ABA during my years as a behavior therapist such as Marlena Boehm from Autism Partnership, Kathleen Kitlowski Ph.D., and Dara Michalski from Redwood Learning Center. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Brigham Young University. She moved to Hawaii in 2002 and worked as an Autism Consultant for several local companies. She trained and supervised skills trainers, assisted in the IEP development process, and composed treatment plans for student’s with autism and related disorders.

In 2004 she assumed the role as the Program Supervisor at Pacific Autism Center. Given a diverse group of clients, her responsibilities included supervision of all ABA programs, supervising and training all ABA therapists, collaborating with schools, speech therapists and OTs. She provided supervision and consultation as well as, directed all programs at PAC including social skills classes, integrated preschool program, summer programs and an ABA classroom. Her other responsibilities included creating and developing curriculum and data systems for individual children. Emaley has had the amazing opportunity to work with Dr. Carol Nowak Ph.D. in doing comprehensive assessments and diagnosis. She was able to consult and train families and professionals in Japan over the course of 2 years, through PAC’s sister program Pacific Learning Center.

She is currently a grad student in the College of Education at the University of Hawaii and has studied Applied Behavior Analysis through the University of North Texas. Emaley is scheduled to graduate with her M.Ed. in Spring of 2010. She received her Board Certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCABA) in November 2008.

Emaley loves being in this field because it allows her interact with the most amazing people, including the children she has served. She has seen how children and families can be transformed by quality intensive behavioral programs. Because her own two children are so precious to her, she also understands how important it is for a parent to have nothing but the best. She is grateful to now work for ABC Group, utilizing the Verbal Behavior approach to ABA, and is proud that ABC Group is committed to bringing quality ABA programming to their learners!
